Chan Marshall aka Cat Power (probably sometime in the late 90’s).

I saw her at The End in Nashville around 2003. The end is a tiny little club, and it was just her, with a piano and a guitar. Everyone sat on the floor, Indian style, and we all listened to her do her set. She was painfully shy, and didn’t hardly say anything between songs. Came to find out, later, that she was battling alcoholism, and would, eventually, end up in rehab before recording and releasing The Greatest.

I had a huge crush on her during this period…
